the First Lady means business – good news for my upcoming Non-Profit of
(“Can Someone Spare Me Some Change?” YES!)

In general everyone this is the normal question that you hear from panhandlers particularly in major cities when they are requesting change as in money – the koncep of this non-profit that I am working on is to literally Spare a Change – the agency plans to align itself to various sponsors and entities that would be able to provide a “Change” for these persons – the monetary change is not going to do – but all of the other aspects will:
Godly Spiritual Direction
Housing/Shelter
Job Search Assistance
Clothing
Food
etc.
Thank God for this reminder last evening when I met this homeless gentleman by the name of John David Floyd; Mr. Floyd talked about being homeless and living in an abandoned building off of Gervais Street, I asked him about why he is not at the Mission or a Shelter and he indicated that those facilities are just like being incarcerated because once you check in to one of them, you are held accountable to returning nightly etc. (with no source of freedom and little to no rehabilitation to “change”) ultimately feeling like PRISON, he felt that living in the abandoned building was better than this… WOW we are missing the mark on this one… and yes he alluded to his drug use and sales, and alcoholism, etc. etc. etc. that led to him being homeless – the thing that we gotta get though is that this is a human being and He like us made some mistakes… its time to stop looking down on people like Mr. Floyd and begin to reflect on what each of us can do to help…
